Regenerative endodontic treatment of immature permanent teeth

Abstract
|

|
I. Introduction
Regenerative endodontic methods have the potential to allow for continuation of root development and might therefore offer an alternative therapeutic approach in the management of immature permanent teeth with compromised structural integrity. It can be accomplished by conservative treatment after disinfection of the root canal system, evoked bleeding into the root canal, and adequate coronal seal.
II. Case Presentation

1. Sex/Age: F/11
2. Chief Complaint: Referred from local clinic for the treatment of #35 with open apex
3. Past Dental history: Root canal treatment on #35 1 week ago at local clinic
4. Present Illness: Facial swelling on lower left area and Per(+), Mob(-), Bite test(+), Gingival swelling on #35
5. Impression: Periapical abscess on #35
6. Treatment Plan: Regenerative endodontic treatment on #35 using triple antibiotics and MTA

1. Sex/Age: F/11
2. Chief Complaint: Referred from local clinic for the treatment of #45 with open apex
3. Past Dental history: Root canal treatment on #45 1 month ago at local clinic
4. Present Illness: Per(-), Mob(-), Bite test(-) on #45
5. Impression: Apical periodontitis on #35
6. Treatment Plan: Regenerative endodontic treatment on #45 using MTA
III. Conclusion
This case report demonstrates favorable outcome of regenerative endodontic treatment conducted in immature permanent teeth with periapical disease.
